Did you invite ALL your family (including distant relatives) to your wedding?

we're having a small wedding and im justwondering if its mandatory to invite people i've never met or dont ever talk to.

no...i say just invite the close family and the close friends you want there. its YOUR wedding you should be able to invite who you want, not whoever the "book" dictates....who writes these stupid books anyways?

honestly, since my fiance and I were the ones paying...we invited the people that we really wanted there and thats it

we're lucky that both our families are relatively small so we didnt have this problem. i say its your wedding. invite who you want. now if your parents are paying for the wedding i can understand if they might want more say in how gets invited or not...
