my first thought would be to have a destination wedding. usually if you do you can keep your guestlist short. if you want to have a wedding back home, maybe consider having an adults only reception? can you have a guestlist where you agree that you will only invite people that both you and your fiance know?

if its unlimited pictures than i think its neat. if you're paying per picture i might reconsider because i've seen people go crazy with those booths and it could easily rack up some $$$ if you're paying for each one

no way. i think it used to be but in modern times its become quite chic to have black. i've seen black as the primary color at 3 of the wedding i've gone to in the past 2 years. its usually offset with another bright color but i think it looks gorgeous!

i think its customary for the bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses in american weddings. personally, i feel like since i asked them to be apart of my wedding and to share my special day that i should cover the financial responsibility of it. honestly i think its a bit rude for brides to have bridesmaids fork out 200-300 on a dress they'll never wear again (well maybe) that the bride picks out.

either way works, it really depends you what you prefer. its up to you. For my wedding, I want to have my bridesmaids right next to me to remind me of when to change, let me know when someting was in my teeth, fix my necklace, steal my food.. etc

I made sure that my venue allowed hard liquor, let alone alcohol. Most venues prefer you to only have beer, wine and champagne.
If you're going with a whole range of decors, ASK if you are able to put stuff up on walls, or hang from the ceiling. When I was considering this one venue, I could picture all the decor, but when I went to visit it, I was informed that nothing can be put up on the walls or ceiling, not even anything attached to tape!!
Just make sure to check out every last detail of every venue.

My advise would be to keep it small and simple. Invite those closest to you for a meaningful intimate gathering. This will allow you to maximize your budget. Focus on the three things that are most important to you, i.e. food, location, decor. and splurge on them, then be frugal with the other items.
Ideas~
*Venue: Consider a Friday or Sunday have the ceremony and reception in the same place, re-use arrangements. Check your Parks & Recreation department for community centers.
*Photographer: Request an unedited disk, as well as a written copy from the photographer for the rights to reproduce your photos for your own personal use.
*Cake: Work with a good supermarket bakery. Do not say WEDDING cake at all. Request a 8", 10", 12", & 14", this will be enough for 100 guest. Place the cake on a stand, decorate with flowers &/or topper. Enlist the help of a trusted friend to pick up and assemble on wedding day http://www.weddingcakestand.net/
*Reception: Consider using culinary students from a local college or trade school to do the food. Give them a fixed budget. Use bulk store when possible. Agree on a reasonable rate they will gain valuable experience. Sample menu---http://www.maccallumhouse.com/pages/weddings/wedding_menu.html. Check back they always have great menus.
*Centerpieces: Check places like Craig's List for ready made centerpieces or containers.
*Bouquet: Fresh--single flower wrapped with ribbon for BM i.e. calla lily
*Favors: Send your quest off a sweet treat, this is a great DIY project for your bridesmaids. 2 cookies in a wax paper bag with a custom label, http://www.nashvillewraps.com/ShowSku.ww?Class=005&Type=634 or 2 Hershey kisses in an organza bag with a tag. http://www.efavormart.com/tulle-and-organza.aspx
I hope these ideas help. Best Wishes!
